While some of us are busy dealing with dry winter, Electric Vehicles, and observing political parties pre-election, the YEPN council has been working with BEC on our 3-year strategy. We will also organise a get-together soon, so stay tuned as we will announce more very shortly.

Our next YEPN events
One aim of the network is to provide a platform for members to exchange ideas on energy-related topics. We’re preparing two events focussing on this winter and low hydro inflows, and on future energy policy. We are securing speakers and venue, so keep an eye on your inbox.

Electric Vehicles coming to New Zealand

Decarbonising gas networks
In an effort to move to a low-carbon economy, the city of Leeds in the UK is looking at replacing methane with hydrogen in its existing gas networks. Watch this 18-minutes video on the h21 project here.

Next Smart Grid Forum Lecture
Andy Burgess, Associate Partner at Ofgem (the UK's energy regulator) is giving a lecture on 16 August 2017 at the Wharewaka Function Centre. He will describe a Smart Flexible Energy System concept developed with the UK government. Tickets are available here.
