YEPN Lunch with Bloomberg New Energy Finance Founder, Michael Liebreich
Friday 21 June, 12.00 pm – 1:30 pm at BusinessNZ Energy Council
JacksonStone House, Level 6, 3-11 Hunter Street, Wellington
Join us for a conversation over lunch with clean energy, transport and climate change thought leader, Michael Liebreich. Michael is visiting New Zealand as a Z Energy guest and the Young Energy Professional Network (YEPN) is delighted to host an event with him.
Michael is Chairman and CEO of Liebreich Associates, through which he provides advisory services and speaks on clean energy, transportation, smart infrastructure, technology, climate finance and sustainable development. He is also the Founder and Senior Contributor to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.
Between 2012 and 2018 Michael was a Board Member of Transport for London, where he sat on the Finance Committee and chaired the Safety, Sustainability and HR Panel. He is a former member of the high-level advisory group for the UN Secretary General’s Sustainable Energy for All initiative, has served on The World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Councils on Sustainable Energy and the New Energy Architecture, and the advisory board of the Clinton Global Initiative Energy and Climate Change Working Group.
Michael’s interests and areas of expertise are wide-ranging, covering a host of energy and transport topics. He’s particularly focused on the pressing timeline for meaningful change on carbon emissions, the plummeting cost of “alternatives” (which aren’t so alternative anymore) and his vision for the “three-third world” where one third of all energy comes from wind and solar, one third of all vehicles are electric, and the world’s economy is one third more energy efficient.
The presentation will be followed by a light lunch and the opportunity to network.
We hope you can make it!
