PPA Template

Corporate PPAs are a key contributor to the clean energy transition, supporting over 300 GW of new renewables worldwide. They are emerging in Aotearoa as businesses seek lower energy costs, long-term price certainty, greater emissions impact and energy security.

This standard template PPA is designed to:

  • Improve knowledge and accessibility of PPAs for large and smaller energy users
  • Streamline PPA negotiations and reduce legal friction
  • Make PPA transactions more consistent and bankable

The template is part of an industry-led initiative to increase corporate PPA uptake led by BusinessNZ Energy Council, DLA Piper and Zeale (formally EVA Marketplace). It was developed through collaboration with 18 organisations across the electricity sector and provides a balanced starting point for PPAs in the New Zealand market, aligned with international best practice.
