Assessing risk in a global energy market.
The BusinessNZ Energy Council (BEC) is a group of New Zealand’s peak energy sector organisations taking a leading role in creating a sustainable energy future. As a division of BusinessNZ, New Zealand’s largest business advocacy body and member of the World Energy Council (WEC), BEC members are a cross-section of leading energy-sector business, government and research organisations. Together with its members the BEC is shaping the energy agenda for New Zealand.
For the fourth year running the BusinessNZ Energy Council has again been offered the opportunity by the World Energy Council to have a New Zealand energy issues ‘deep dive’ completed for it. The BECs continued participation in the energy issues map development process is a great opportunity to build on last years’ maps and analyses, identify what keeps New Zealand energy executives awake at night, and what keeps them busy during the day. In order to outreach the tool again we would like to ask all NZ chief executes from the energy sector to join into the survey.

An analysis of the electricity market in New Zealand by Sapere Research Group.
The former Energy Federation of NZ (now BusinessNZ Energy Federation) produced this publication to provide a balanced and forward-looking view of the energy research required to transform New Zealand’s energy systems. It is intended as a guide to investment, and to direct research toward that which will provide efficient and effective use of New Zealand’s limited research resources.
