2016 World EnergyIssues Survey
For the fourth year running the BusinessNZ Energy Council has again been offered the opportunity by the World Energy Council to have a New Zealand energy issues ‘deep dive’ completed for it. The BECs continued participation in the energy issues map development process is a great opportunity to build on last years’ maps and analyses, identify what keeps New Zealand energy executives awake at night, and what keeps them busy during the day. In order to outreach the tool again we would like to ask all NZ chief executes from the energy sector to join into the survey.

World Energy Issues Monitor 2016 – New Zealand and the World
With the launch of the 2016 World Energy Issues Monitor last month, we took the opportunity to do a New Zealand release of the new, New Zealand Energy Issues Map which was contained as one of the few ‘deep-dive’ jurisdiction specific maps in the Issues Monitor.

Report shows electric vehicles central to closing global emissions gap
Newly released research by the World Energy Council shows that electric vehicles will need to increase their combined market share to 16% by 2020 to achieve the aggressive fuel economy standards set by policy makers around the world.

New Zealand’s energy system ranked third most secure in the world
New Zealand has been ranked third for energy security amongst the top 25 energy users in the world. The International Index of Energy Security Risk is a United States Chamber of Commerce tool designed to facilitate a better understanding of global energy markets.
